Why did I agree to ruin my weekend with a huge job that I am still not done with :S

( I am not expecting any intelligent answers, oh, you poor thing will be ok)

Or to be less nice: I could have told you so!

Lately, I can't decide if I'm becoming more sensible, or if I'm just succumbing to my lazy side, but I've started rejecting all jobs which are going to ruin my weekends, or even my afternoon...
I'll probably change that attitude as soon as the next credit card bill comes in though...

In memoriam
There must be an echo somewhere... Mar 2, 2008

I only hope that the weather is really disgusting, that it's icy cold outside and you are locked up in your house by accident...

Must continue writing now...

Thanks all :-) Mar 2, 2008

I knew I could count on your support.
All done now, only the invoice left
Next weekend will start on Thursday, but will unfortunately not be completely free from work either.

mmmmmmm, grand idea. I'm already enjoying the thought of it.
And I'm definitely going to introduce the idea to my clients. Really.
I love it!

Many thanks for the inspiration, Özden. And, yes, I mean it.

Been there, done that... Mar 3, 2008

We all make foolish decision from time to time that we later regret...

I have accepted jobs that ruined my weekends and did not compensate me enough for the trouble more than once! I found comfort in thinking that every time I do a project, I learn something and build a base for the future jobs, that will be more interesting and better paid.

Not sure if it was on any consolation...

doesn't it?

Oh, well... when we get the money, we'll be quite happy.

Ah, freelance translators...what a rum lot!

Best regards from a fellow sufferer in Mexico,

Y

Start it anyday Mar 3, 2008

As we say in Turkish, "any day is a holiday for the fool" (Fool as in the 'village fool' - oh, perhaps we are the fools of the global village)

Isn't this the best thing about being a freeeeeelancer?
