Word replaces letters by random characters

Hello,

A weird thing, actually: I type a letter, see it on the screen for a while and then it disappears or is replaced by another character. It happens although I write perfectly valid words.

Examples:
I wrote ve (a valid Czech word) and it suddenly mutated into v (also a valid Czech word).
I wrote se (a valid Czech word) and it suddenly mutated into s" (which of course does not even exist so it can't be an automatic correction).

The change occurs roughly two strokes later. It happens once per page, more or less. I have never noticed it another application (unless the combination of Word and WordFast counts).

Should I clean my keyboard, or could it be a virus?
