I just received a .chm file, never heard of it before. How do I open it (XP, Word 2003)?

Send it back to the client... Aug 11, 2008

... and tell them to send you a file you can deal with. You don't have to put up with this rubbish. Put your foot down!

It's a help file Aug 11, 2008

It's a standard Windows help file, like the ones that open when you view the help of most programs.

There are a few converters out there, so you can export a CHM to, say, HTML. Still, a CHM is nothing you can work on if you have to translate the text inside it.

A converter Aug 11, 2008

www.gridinsoft.com/chm.php

This is one of the many converters out there. Just search "chm converter" or "chm html converter".
Good luck!

Thanks for the info.

It's not stuff to translate, it's a Styleguide, for reference, so I just need t.chm so the sender renamed it .doc and I then renamed it when I got it. I am beginnign to think that this is where the problem is - the text got lost during tha renaming proces.
