I am using Office 2003 on Windows Vista. When editing in this document, provided by the customer, I get the above mentioned message. I click on retry and it pops up again whereas when I click on cancel, I lose everything I've written so far.

any ideas?

Did you enable the macros in this document?

If you didn't enable the macros - then the document doesn't work correctly.

Security level is another matter Dec 15, 2008

In Word, Excel or other VBA projects, security level and document macros are different matters.
In most Excel documents, macro is an automatic function to enable certain tasks e.g. cell formula calculation or form completing.
Whenever you cancel the macro or instruction for file reopening, you lose you newly written data.
By the way, if you set the security level high, your document macros may not function correctly in certain situations. The document will then warn you to change the settings.

Soonthon L.
