User	Thread poster: Paul Dixon Automatic Numbering doesn't work - why?
Paul Dixon   Brazil Local time: 16:26 Member (2009) Portuguese to English + ...	Dec 14, 2011 The automatic numbering does not work on my Word system, as from the second level. In the past I could, for example, after item 4, create a second level 4.1, 4.2 or a third level 4.1.1, 4.1.2 but this does not work any more. Why? David Wright   Austria Local time: 21:26 Member (2007) German to English + ...	Have you tried Dec 14, 2011 looking up automatic numbering in the help program. You may have accidentally deactivated this feature and the help menu will probably be of assistance. (Mine's in german so i can't tell you exactly how it is in the english version)   Subject: Comment: The contents of this post will automatically be included in the ticket generated. Two solutions Dec 14, 2011 Hi Paul, You might find the solution under Format, Bullets and Numbering, Customize: There you can choose the formatting. However, if your problem refers to the numbering of chapters, choose Insert, Indexes and Tables, Table of contents, where you can choose the number of levels.
