Page numbering in Word

Hello

does anybody know how to put page numbers in word doc starting from the 3rd page and leaving the first two unnumbered?

Hi Molly,

The option I use is the following:
Create a new document (or select the whole of the document if you are using a document that already exists)
Select File
Select Page Setup
Select Layout
Under Headers and Footers tick both boxes (Different odd and even and Different first page)
Now you go to the third page and where you would like numbering to start and add the number in the Footer or Header area (Insert -> Field -> Page). This will put 3 at this place and pages 1 and 2 will not be numbered.

Next you do a section break and define the next section as follows:
Select File
Select Page Setup
Select Layout
Under Headers and Footers remove the tick from both boxes (Different odd and even and Different first page)

Now you again go to the Headers and Footers but for Section 2 and remove Same as previous and add the Page Number as a Field.

Tweak your document to meet your requirements and Bob's your uncle.
