Before a recent update to Windows XP, I was able to type a URL in a Word document and then click on it to open the relevant web page.
I now get a dialogue box reading "Unable to open http://www.xxxxxxxxxxx/. Cannot locate the Internet server or proxy server".
Referring to the Help menu, I have checked that the "Internet and Network paths with hyperlinks" box under Tools, Autocorrect, Autoformat, is ticked.
I should be very grateful for some advice.
