On my new machine Word does all the stupid things it is programmed to do. I would like to stop ist suggesting things when I write, e.g. when I write in a table it tells me "press Enter to add".
I cannot find the switch for it.
Thanks for help!
Heinrich

This might help Apr 26, 2006

In your Word document:

Tools>AutoCorrect Options>AutoCorrect - and untick the box at the very bottom (Automatically use suggestions...').

I find this extremely annoying too - especially when switching between languages and Word doesn't know which spell checker to use!

Hope this helps,

K

Or AutoText options Apr 26, 2006

In the same AutoCorrect Options tab there is also AutoText and 'Show AutoComplete Suggestions', which you may be more along the lines of what you're actually looking for?

Good luck!
