When analyzing a large .doc with wordfast 3.35 in Ms Word 2003, half way I get a message saying:
"Word has insufficient memory. You will not be able to undo this action once it's completed. Do you want to continue?"

But if I check the Task manager word is only using 77Mb and there is plenty of memory still available.

So it looks like a Word 2003 limitation, is there away to increase the memory allocation?

Try this Feb 17, 2007

"1. Check virtual memory allocation and ensure it is at least 750 / 750.

2. Close all office programs and do a search for *.dot on the entire computer. Once found, delete all instances of .dot .

Open word... should work just fine."

Word optimization Feb 21, 2007

The Trados manual advises the following:

Word optimization: For advanced users, we recommend changing some registry settings to speed up Word considerably. To do this, use the RegOptions macro from the template shipped with Word. This template provides macros that can be used for manipulating the registry. It is not installed by default; select it during Setup. You can also install it at a later stage or download it from the Microsoft web site at
C The registry options that most speed up Word are CacheSize and BitmapMemory, both of which are, by default, set to 64. We recommend changing this value to 512 or 1024.
