Could someone remind me how to insert text to appear vertically, that is, perpendicular to normal text.

Hi,

I assume you mean MS Word.
After you create a text box, a special tool panel for text boxes should pop up. The right hand icon of the 4 default ones should be "change text alignment".


I'm using MS Word 2000.

Sorry, I sh have mentioned that I am working in Word 2000.
