Like several others, I find cooking some really nice food a good way to move away from the life of the mind. Other practical pursuits, such as drawing, or making something (knitting, weaving...). And in the lighter evenings of summer, going for a long walk.

I generally use my free time to get out and about and spend time with my husband and friends, including going on walks together. If it is very late at night, then it will be supper with my husband and tv.

Going to gym 3 times a week. When I lift 75 kilos on my shoulders 15 times, I no longer care about anything else, my mind becomes perfectly purified ))). Also music, computer games, books, walk in the park and many other things...

Another vote here for spending quality time with the spouse. We both like making music, or listening to it, so often that is involved. Also paying attention to the cats. And I knit quite a lot, too ...

A long, tough project usually means I left even the groceries pending.

... but I really do many other things, depending on the time, of course, - go to the gorcery store, cooking a nice meal, making phone calls with friends and familiy, go for a jog, listening and watching music on YouTube, playing the guitar and singing my favourite or new songs etc.
