Yes, I came back to the US after almost 20 years in Catalonia, Spain and have been grappling with my very severe reverse culture shock at my own country, along with perhaps overly misty-eyed nostalgia for my lost homeland and city, Barcelona.

Six years ago, when I was planning to move to Crete, I created my blog on explorecrete.com. I updated it with my experience of being a newcomer to Crete, with my impressions of being here in the Southern most place of Europe.
Now that I have for years been "an inhabitant" of this place, I hardly ever update it, maybe once every six months, nothing seems to surprise me anymore, so maybe I think it wouldn´t be surprising anybody else either. ... I do have a personal blog independent from the translation business. It was born from the necessity to share some thoughts and writings with one of my best friends and so we decided to create that space for both of us to publish psychological reflections, personal thoughts and other contents. It's in Spanish because it's our native language.

You don't want to know the flabbergasted looks on various faces whenever I tell anyone that I don't want or need a cellphone or Skype or IM.
Back to topic: I don't have a blog, either and I can't even tell why. Maybe for the same reason I don't need pink shoes with LED lights.

After working, looking after my kids, cooking, ironing, cleaning house, grocery shopping, paying bills and balancing my checkbook, I just don't have enough time (or energy!!) to put into a blog.
I cringe at the idea of subjecting the world to the banalities of my existence!
So, until I have the time to post something actually useful to the world, I will not have a blog...
...if I went 'round, sayin' I was an Emperor, just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!!!
