I find that the more simple the questions, the more revealing the results.
A picture of us translators can be drawn using the sometimes surprising answers to these very simple polls, much more than from ambitous blogs or articles. IMHO.

Job performed, and completed as a professional would/should/could do.
That's it. Of course a little compliment from the client is a plus, but that's also a part of the professional process.

The two weeks before xmas i was really busy and had a few assignments like that. I was totally fried when it was all done and part of me just wanted to do nothing but watch mindless tv but i also just wanted to get out of the house and get to the gym, go drinking or shopping!

With long projects, which is what I mostly do, I often stay up through the night before the delivery date making sure I've covered all the bases. I get compulsive--and my extra vigilance is almost always rewarded. But I'm getting old for these all-nighters, and I don't feel good for 24 to 36 hours afterward.
As for relief, I usually have another job waiting in the wings.

For a portal devoted to translation, Proz polls come across as quite limited in scope and imagination. |

You are free to suggest less limited and more imaginative poll questions. You are also free to ignore the polls if they annoy you. |

For me it's a mixture of elation and tiredness; good deserved tiredness that makes enjoying myself more rewarding somehow.

When I finally get it done and hit the send button on my email client, I usually feel relieved but then I get anxious because there are so many things that can go wrong with a long and difficult translation assignment. If everything stays calm, especially after there has been a query, I get calmer as well and as soon as the payment arrives I can put it out of my mind.
