with the world wide web ,is it of any consequence where a customer or service provider lives as long as they have mutual access to the net?as far as I can see ,it is of only minor demographic interest.any comments?

I live in Germany, and translate from English to Turkish. So far, I've had clients from all continents except for Africa and South America; and in Europe, I worked only for once with a German agency

I think the same and work for clients all over the world but some of my fellow translators told me that they prefer working for local clients, and on the other hand, I heard some of my local clients say they would prefer to work with local translators as far as regular work is concerned...
