I am extremely happy these days as I await the arrival of another baby in our family. My niece is expecting in a few months. I want to gift her a book with a beautiful poem on its first page.
Can any of you suggest a short, beautiful poem for an expecting mother (in English)?

One of my good friends, Leif Bello-Romund, wrote this poem a few years ago. Written for a baby boy, but with small edits could also be for a girl. Hope you like it. No copyrights that I am aware of.

WHO WILL HE BE?
Leif Bello-Romund
The light shines in on the young child; the angel guard he keeps.
The babe a sign of renewed life, the symbol of mankind.
Who will this child one day be? his destiny's untold.
A star in Hollywood, one making millions, topping all.
An athlete breaking every record, wanting in no skill.
A master of some country vast; maker of items great.
A leader for the King perchance: a priest whose words will change
The thoughts and hearts of many a man to Him redeeming all.
One cannot say "Who will he be?" his future is untold.

Zero children here, but I'm thirty and that's still young, right?

My girlfriend wants kids, but not yet (she's younger than me). I want one (maximum two - absolutely no more than that...probably). Although I do get the occasional angst-ridden thought of "how can I bring someone into this terrible world, when there's so much war and climate change".
Then again, someone has to pay for our pensions.

I have only one son, Arnau, 3 years old. He started school last week. I would like to have another child but would have to convince my husband first... When I see my baby sleeping at night, I realise that's the best thing I've done in my life...
