Some sort of "order out of chaos" symbol - perhaps a labyrinth with a path through it, or puzzle pieces coming together?
(I often think of my translation projects as crossword puzzles I have to solve. It's also how I explain the kind of mental gymnastics involved in doing a translation if I'm explaining my work to someone who doesn't work in the field).

I have a bridge on my (still rough) website. My husband picked it, although we don't know which bridge it is. Now I am inspired to find a nice image of a Dutch bridge, preferably one with with a large span!
I had been toying with other symbols (NOT tulips and windmills), but perhaps a Dutch bicycle, country map, flag. But I also translate Flemish and Afrikaans, so that seems limiting.
Thanks for the inspiration.

I like this idea a lot. But, what about a bridge made up of multilingual dictionaries? It could be interesting.

Although I like the bridge, I would prefer something with people. People who understand each other.

for me, a bridge is rather for a "live" connection (interpreters?)
for translators, the big issue is: what the heck is this? (pardon)
