That's interesting, because when I proposed the poll I included "pornography" and it got edited out. (Replaced by espionage.)

I guess there is a difference between translating Anais Nin, D.H. Lawrence (Lady Chatterly) and pornography, although what is described is the same action.

That's exactly what I did starting 9 years ago with ~40/60 and ending with ~20/80 ratio of translation/interpretation. Love it! I can't say all my texts are true "favorites", it's hard to fall in love with condensate transfer procedure or blowout preventers:-) but all texts come from the fields I specialize in so the translation part of life is as easy as it can possibly be. Interpretation is never easy but for me it is soooooo much more fun and sooooo much more rewarding. Go for it!
