to buy items for your business/job, then yes, I do invest. I understood it to mean investing as in stock market, money market, funds, savings, etc. and my answer was no. I should though, but I keep putting it off from month to month and year to year.

This meaning of investment allows me to say that in spite of some unpleasant situations, I've been able to invest in a couple of dictionaries, and thats about all... Oh, yes, also investing in studies and my health and wellbeing.

If you mean reinvesting earned money in my personal and professional developement than the answer would be in my case yes, very much. Actually I do not invest in anything else. To give some examples: law studies, trainings (trados, soft skills), conferences, proz.com membership, membership in associations, hardware, software, advertising.

Right now, all the money I'm saving is going towards paying the taxes due for January 2008! I understood "investment" in the sense of investment in stocks and shares, property etc. so the answer was a clear "No". I didn't understand it as investment in software or courses or personal development.
I invested in a laptop, books and studies. With my girlfriend we bought a new refrigerator among other things for our apartment, well, "our" is a way of saying it, for our rented apartment. Buying a house is beyond our possibilities; they are really expensive in Argentina. Best, Fernando

I answered "No" because I thought you meant stocks, real estate and all sorts of financial things.
