Dear Translators,

I need to buy a good legal dictionary Portuguese < > English

I came across two:

Dicionário Jurídico (Português-Inglês/Inglês-Português)
de Maria Chaves de Mello from Portugal and
Noronha Dicionario Juridico from Brazil.

Any advice on the matter? I mostly work with Brazilian documents but sometimes with European Portuguese document.

Another dictionary for cross checking Feb 3, 2008

Hi Ilana,
Just noticed your post and saw you had no replies. I have the dictionary you mention and use it in conjunction with another:

Dicionario Juridico (Ingles-Portugues) by Maria Paula Gouveia Andrade and Alvaro Dias Saraiva.

isbn 972-9427-44-5

I find it quite useful to use the two books together though they are not particularly satisfactory. To be honest I tend to look things up on the internet - it tends to be more up to date info!
