Refunds of bid fee for jobs that never get done? Thread poster: LJC (X)

After January we\'ll all have to pay 1 dollar or 100 browniZ to bid on a job. What happens if the bids don\'t get closed and no-one is given the job? Do we get a refund?

Until such time as our job system and job tracking is more comprehesive, guaranteeing that jobs will actually be done (which is what a refund policy would amount to) is not practical.
In many cases, jobs are passed without the outsourcer marking the job \'closed.\' And we simply can not confirm the status of 30-70 jobs per day.

And the interesting thing is that the trasnlators are paying a dollar to bid for a job posted by an entity whose identity he will never know.
Suppose you get lot of not so serious or dubious job posted ? What will you do?
For translators genuine or dubious job posters amounts to the same, because they never get to know who the job poster is.

As you know, Telesforo, this eventuality was dicussed elsewhere in these forums. The upshot was that if the poster is not a ProZ.com member (ie. we do not have contact info), the fee won\'t apply.

I think the outsourcer have the most interest in the job.
They should pay a fee, not the bidder.
