The new ProZ.com site design, version 4, is now available to all registered members who choose to use it. The new design boasts an easier to use navigation system, a cleaner look, and a more light-weight page design that should load more quickly.

Those registered members who would like to try out the new design will find a \"switch to new design\" link at the top left of the page, underneath the ProZ.com logo. Switching back to the old design is just as easy, with a similar \"revert to old design\" link underneath the ProZ.com logo.

Please post your comments and suggestions regarding the new site design in this thread.

Regards,

jg

Looks great Apr 24, 2003

Nice new design! A lot more \'aired\' and, after using it for 5 minutes, sooooooo easy to use. I have the feeling, though, that some of the features of the old desing are missing. Hmmm... Might just be me.

Thanks for leaving us the option Apr 24, 2003

I have tried it and will probably try it again, but as things are at present, I feel happier with the traditional version, I think mainly because I prefer Verdana font to Arial.

MODERATOR
Some remarks Apr 24, 2003

Dear Jason, thanks for your great job!

Here\'s a few remarks.

The name \'Directory\' is unclear. I think, it should be renamed to something like \'ProZ and Agencies\' (as in the old design).

\'About\' is somewhat misleading: as far as I can see, the function of the \'About\' button is different in each window (and different from the \'About\' in the upper menu), so I\'d suggest renaming this button correspondingly in each window.

\'Tools\' should be renamed to \'CAT Tools\' for sure.

The button \'ProZ.com Top\' in the forum window should be renamed to \'Home\'.

well improved structures and search flow Apr 24, 2003

..but the font size is at the limit of what I can read on my monitor.

And if I apply the zoom function of my browser, the layout becomes awkward.

Couldn\'t you add 1 tiny point to the smallest font size?

Or would this have the same effect as zooming?

Thanks - the font type did it!

You got it Jack Apr 24, 2003

Hi Jack,

\"Verdana\" is back now, so I guess they listened to you

Let's have a larger font Apr 25, 2003

Basically I\'m happy with the new design except for the very small font. Please consider using a larger font.

Hi Bob,

Have you tried adjusting the font? There are \"Font +/-\" links on pretty much every page.

About the colors Apr 25, 2003

I like the fact that they are in similar tonalities, no aggressive yellow or red, but at the same time I think I\'d prefer another scale of colors. A scale more \"alive\".

Support Apr 25, 2003

Jason,

I still think that the support tab should be moved from the KudoZ page to the homepage. Why ever was it put in the KudoZ page anyway?!
