Outsourcers. Dec 8, 2005

Outsourcers of some of the projects I listed have not answered yet.
* Do they have some time limit to reply?
* Does Proz resend the email asking for their comments after some time?
* Is there any chance to review the email addres - or to edit it - just in case there has been any mistakes or changes in it?

However, my point was that displaying client names would be a significant advantage but at the same time a huge risk. I would like to see the risk removed and the advantage retained.

What a great way to steal other people's clients! Fantastic idea! Thanks! My marketing efforts will be slashed in half!

Giovanni,
showing client's names is not compulsory, it is left to each of us to decide who we want to show (all, none, or just a selection).

If you decide to show some names you may risk to have your sources of work disclosed but, on the other hand, you would be able to benefit from the client's feedback and corroborate the quality of your services. Not disclosing any name, your project history may appear a bit flat and unsubstantiated.

Personally, I'm stil pondering if showing some names or not.
Probably not, and I reserve to produce my references on demand, under specific request only.
Nevertheless, I apreciate the possibility of listing the details of real jobs I have delivered, their subject, volume, and other relevant details, at my sole discretion.

I find the whole thing a bit pointless. If outsourcers want to work with us, they will look at our CV. All these information are a bit of an overkill, in my opinion, and make us look desperate for work...

Also, there will be plenty of colleagues who will publish all the relevant data, exposing themselves to e-robbery. I understand Proz's commitment to provide value for money for Platinum members, but maybe the site owner should concentrate his efforts towards finding ways of consolidating the image of our profession instead.
