What about a new refreshing look on our dull ProZ-site...

No offence, but what do like the design on this site? I think it\'s boring with all the brown, olive-green, yellow colours and unimaginative look. Don\'t misunderstand me, I think the functionality of this site is incredible, everything works fine. But the design...

This site has been in use a long time, so the advantage of the existing concept is that people (old and new members) easily find what they search for and nobody gets confused. But I think that\'s about it...

A new refreshing look would be great for this site and its members. And it would of course also be appealing for new visitors who more likely would register and more often get back to the new visually attractive site.

Got something to think of Henry?

I\'m open for criticism...

Best regards to you all.

Not at all !! Jul 25, 2002

On the contrary, COLORS bring things alive! A variety of colors is all the more interesting.

If someone is bored by the many colors on our refreshed site, I dare to assume that this person needs more color in his/her own life (No offence or pun intended...)

What would be dull is a plain page, monochromatic and completely unappealing.

THAT would pale in comparison...

Colorfully yours,

What about a new conservative look on the over-flamboyant picture above... Jul 25, 2002

No offense, but do you like the picture above? I think it\'s loud, in-your-face, and has the I-am-the-used-car-salesman-of-translations kind of appeal. Don\'t misunderstand me, I think the purpose of the picture is understood, but the head ready to burst through my already undersized monitor makes me want to hide my children...

This picture has been in use a long time, so the advantage of a different picture is that people (old and new clients) don\'t get shocked when they see a watermelon-sized head ready to bite their hand off as they hold out a prospective job. But I think that\'s about it...

A new conservative look would be great for this picture and its owner. And of course, it would be more appealing for new clients, not scaring them off in droves for fear of being eaten by the \"Giant Monster Head\".

Got something to think of?

I\'m open for criticism...

Best regards to you all.

I am so sorry to agree with Mattias 8OS Jul 25, 2002

Especially after visiting his web site.

BTW, I like your logo too. Proz design is not bad, only... it could be better.

But, after all, I don\'t really care about that, all I need from Proz is to keep on working this well, that\'s really all that matters.

Plus, it is just a question of taste, which we can not argue or discuss. You like brown, she likes blue, well, I like red.

Content is ten times more important than design! Jul 26, 2002

AND

one could say one thing:

There is no site on the web with the colour palette that we all got used to, are familiar with and so much at home with.

There must exist very compelling reasons to \"change a winning team\" none of which has really been offered by anyone yet.

The colour palett almost is ProZ.com.

I\'m all for improvement - in the right places.

Yes, but that is just skin deep. Isnt\'it?

I believe that with time some cosmetic changes will be implemented on ProZ too, but at the moment the resources and the best efforts are invested in content, features and functionality.

is it possible to choose a different skin? Jul 26, 2002

I have noticed that when I look at pages of ProZ not directly from the site, but from somewhere else (e.g., I search my name in Yahoo and see the profile page) the colours are different, and I am wondering why. It would be nice to be able to choose at least one\'s own preferred colours.

Bye, Gilda
