We are undertaking a project of making the ProZ.com design more consistent. We have just made a number of slight adjustments to layout/design on the home page. Please let us know if there are any problems in this, or anywhere on the site. We will be making changes to various additional pages over the next few days.

The previous layout was more convenient for my eyes Feb 14, 2006

I am used to read small letters, I don't have eye problems in general, I have a 17" monitor, however I consider the new font size too small for my eyes.
I would like the old home page layout back, if this is possible, and if other members share my opinion.
That's my only problem, all other changes to the site are nice and useful (I particularly like the new kudoz design, which has been implemented last year).
Thanks for improving the site.

I see the clock has disappeared from the upper left corner Feb 14, 2006

I hope it's only temporary.

I really like the Google homepage, instead of the word "Google" I would put the word "KudoZ" with a box basically to search terms, and add 3 tabs for Jobs, Forum, and XX.

Why on the upper right?
I wouldn't have thought of looking for it into that direction...
Our eyes usually focus on the left, and it should be the first thing we see, unde the proz logo.
Or is it because I wear mine on the left hand?

Walter

Clock is wrong Feb 14, 2006

At 1911 GMT, the clock on my ProZ Homepage reads 1411 gmt. Is this why KudoZ questions notified to me come in with the time setting five hours too early? Only KudoZ questions, not other emails.

Glad you brought this, Jack! Feb 14, 2006

I keep receiveing ALL notifications, KudoZ and forums with the date set 4 hours backwards and this is happening for several days now!

Funny, that the hour stamp on your post above reads indeed 2:14, however the clock on the page I see is 19:14...

Clock problem should be fixed now Feb 14, 2006

Hello all,

At 1911 GMT, the clock on my ProZ.com Homepage reads 1411 gmt. Is this why KudoZ questions notified to me come in with the time setting five hours too early? Only KudoZ questions, not other emails.

This was caused by one of our web servers not having the correct date set. The problem should be resolved now. Thanks for pointing it out!

Best,
Justin

layout changes too frequent Feb 14, 2006

"I particularly like the new KudoZ design, which has been implemented last year"

Me as well. What for to change sth that is working well? If my memory serves me well it is the third or fourth change over the past three years. Not too frequent?

Kind regards
Maciej

Changes for a cleaner, less busy looking page Feb 15, 2006

The home page is getting more and more difficult to take in , too busy, with the smallest police possible to pack in as much info as possible: that is not the basis of an appealing home page so far as I am concerned.
A crisp, clean look with the info to be had by clicking on links would be much more effective IMHO.

That is not to say I do not appreciate the efforts made to make us feel more at home, but sometimes as we all know "le mieux est l'ennemi du bien".

The police used is definitely too small for comfort.

What happened to the "Add note" in KudoZ? Feb 15, 2006

I just answered a KudoZ question, and when I got back to it to add a note, pooof! the "Add note" box had disappeared!

I tried logging off and logging back in, but to no avail...
