Hi everyone.

I bought WebBudget version 2.xx in 2001. They invited me to upgrade to version 3.0 for free in 2002, which I did and they sent me a new licence. This morning I received an e-mail from WebBudget inviting me to upgrade to version 3.6. It said that those who had purchased a previous 3.xx licence could do so for free. I had forgotten that I had not in fact PURCHASED the previous licence but had in fact be GIVEN it and happily went on to click the link that they had provided to the upgrade page. I followed the instructions, overwriting my old 3.0 version and wrote to them asking for the new licence number. They then informed me that I did not qualify for free upgrading because I had not in fact PURCHASED the previous version.

I have two questions:

1. Has anyone else experienced the same problems?

2. Am I alone in feeling that it is slightly unfair to expect an existing license holder of version 2.xx to pay the full price for version 3.6?

I have now lost my previous version and certainly do not want to pay the full price for the new one. Why do I feel as though I\'ve been tricked

Ana

Why not just re-install the old version?

Problem solved

Take care,

Unfortunately, to avoid confusion with new new one, I deleted it.

Why don\'t you contact their support? With such a price they should answer you in seconds.

I\'d like to know how this ended. I think others would be interested too.

Best regards,

Oksana

The best way to avoid confusion is to save files with meaningful names (for example, program_abc_version_3_0X_xx.exe, or whatever makes sense to you).

I don\'t remember the policy or details when I downloaded this program, but if you download the earlier version again, can\'t you just enter your registration information again.

If that isn\'t possible, write to the company and ask what they recommend.

HTH,
