What is \"hide\" about? (My answer \"disappeared\")

I couldn\'t control my curiosity and clicked on \"hide\" in one of my answers, and it seems that I cannot get visible again... What is this \"hide\" thing exactly about?

Use it to retract your answers Jan 17, 2002

Click \'hide\' and your answer will become invisible to everyone but you (and site staff.)



The purpose is to retract answers which you later deem to be wrong or redundant. Once hidden, an answer can not be made visible again.
