Two months ago an agency could be named with a long name. Now only 15 characters are available. I can write TranslateOffice but not Translate Office !

Could it be extended ?

...more details? Aug 19, 2004

Hi Frédéric,
Are you referring to the BlueBoard?
If yes, where exactly do you see this restriction?

Best regards, Ralf

Answering to Ralf Aug 20, 2004

Look, Ralf, at my profile :

You see "Eiffel Tower translation".

I aim at moving it to "Translate Office".

But the new box doesn't allow enough place.

I am obliged to let the first name unchanged for the moment.

Is there any lack of place by Proz ?

Strange !!!

Henry has a sens for ergonomics, has not he ?

Don't see a restriction Aug 20, 2004

Hi again,
Have a look at my profile - the agency name is much longer than 15 characters. The field size displayed in your profile edit screen is restricted, but the field itself is much longer, as far as I can see.

Have you tried to enter the new agency name? If you cannot get it into the field, I suggest you submit a Support Request to ProZ.com staff.

Best regards, Ralf

Bug fixed Aug 20, 2004

This was a bug in the form for entering personal data. Agency names are restricted to 60 characters in the database, but the form was restricting that value to 15 characters. Ralf didn't notice the bug because he had entered his agency name before the bug existed.

I have corrected the error. Frédéric, you should now be able to enter an agency name of up to 60 characters. Thanks for pointing this out.

Jason
