Is it so off topic to be even off that page? Please solve the mystery.

Off-topically yours

Giovanni

Yes, this is a mystery, not yet solved.

See previous topics:

in Bugs: \"Failed attempt to post reply to non-existent forum\".

in Suggestions: \"Following Off-Topic Threads\".

Claudia Iglesia is the only person I know of so far who gets a forum home page which includes \"Off Topic\" (and another less used on, \"For powwow organizers\")

I have found my own solution to it by opening an Off-Topic subject from the ProZ main page, clicking on \"Off-Topic\" at the top of it which takes you to the Off-Topic home page (yes, it does exist!) and bookmarking the URL of this page as a Favorite so that I can return to it whenever I want. But it would be more convenient to have a Claudia-Iglesia-type Forum Home Page.

Merci, Nathalie! Aug 15, 2002

I have now posted my solution to this problem as a topic under Translator Resources

in the hope of making it more widely known to those who may need it.

D\'accord au sujet de Claudia!

Wow ! I've just discovered I'm a very privileged person ! Aug 17, 2002

Hi

I knew I had a Forum Home page that some people didn\'t have, but I didn\'t know I was the only one !

I believe Henry is trying to fix this, as he said he would.

I know Jack has spent a longtime trying to find a solution, so for the moment, let\'s use Jack\'s trick (you, not me )

Thanks for the comments

Is Claudia unique? Aug 17, 2002

Hi, Claudia.

I didn\'t say you were the only one with your type of forums page, I said you were the only one I know of. There are probably others out there (including, presumably, Henry).

To make it easier for anyone else who may be following the subject through this thread rather than the more recent one I started under Translators\' Resources, here is the URL for the Off-Topic Forum Home Page:

http://www.proz.com/?sp=bb/viewforum&eid_c=****&forum=44

in which the asterisks should be replaced by your membership number. Do that, then open the page and bookmark it in Favorites. You can then revisit it any time you want.

Directions to Off-Topic Home Page Aug 17, 2002

I have just discovered that the URL I gave in my last posting here works just as well even if you DON\'T replace the asterisks with your membership number.
