Have I wandered into a parallel universe?
I'm divorced. Oh, and I may have done some naughty things in the recent past. Can I get certified as a pro?

During the last year at the languages' university(1992-1993), many of us sought to join the communist party for job reasons. All government institutions, many import and export firms, which were run by the state then, and even some tourist companies restricted their jobs to the party members.
I also applied for the party membership. My political instructor had a long conversation with me, indeed the first talk I had had with him since 3 years. He turned down my application, because, according to him, I was too self-centered. But, he continued, if I could change in the near future and did enough self-remedy, he and the Party would reconsider my application. Before this campaign my political instructor had been more a machine than a human being to me. Both of us could feel it. I was not a pleasant person for him, which was the real reason for the rejection.
Among other applicants, a few were accepted; a lot more were denied, for bad academic performances, for being political inactive, for unethical relationships...
That was the system I was born into. The best ones adjust to it, the second best ones try to change it, those who retreat, like me, are complete losers.
