Charging 260 euro for a 1-day conference -- especially in December when people already have numerous extra travel and holiday expenses and a reduced workload -- is way too much. The upcoming PROZ conference in Barcelona in November -- running for a full 2 days -- costs just 185 euro! Why can't you bother to look around, negotiate with venues and offer the same thing for us living here in Paris?
Conducting a scenic conference in the Eiffel Tower a very bad idea when it requires doubling the price. Translators are not tourists -- please take this into consideration the next time you plan an event.
If the event registration was more reasonable, I would love to attend, as I learned a great deal the last time you were in Paris and offered 2 full days of sessions for 150 euro.

Agree that a less expensive venue would have been better

While I am looking forward to the event, regrettably, the venue seems to have been selected for prestige reasons for ProZ as an organisation, rather than to provide an affordable event for members and other participants. Please could we have a more affordable venue next time? Hotels in central Paris are an added cost too. However, I have decided to take a sleeper train so only stay one night in Paris.

The Eiffel tower conf room is actually very reasonably priced

Having been the organizer of a number of international conferences and workshops over the years, I am quite impressed that ProZ has been able to get this set-up (including wifi at the conf) for this registration price to participants. Most of the conferences I have organized cost 2-4 times more, had no internet access and had very expensive and not-worth-it coffee break food (if you want to call it food).
I did organize a conference in the past at the Eiffel Tower and we chose that venue because the cost of the room and the restaurant for such a conference was very reasonably priced compared with many other locations (hotels, meeting rooms, etc) which charge as much or more for a lot less.
