I found that job posted some minutes ago and it would fully correspond with my specialisation (Kranbau - crane construction from RU to GE) http://www.proz.com/translation-jobs/265949 The only thing is, I do not use CAT tools, but would it be possible to contact the outsourcer anyway to discuss another option? Sybille | | | Outsourcer requirements filtering | Jul 10, 2008 |
In some cases to outsourcer indicates specific requirements that MUST be met by those applying. Others who do not meet the requirements will be unable to see the contact information. These outsourcers are thereby not open to discussing other options, as they themselves set and control the requirements, for whatever reason they deem convenient | | | Marek Buchtel Czech Republic Local time: 06:47 Member (2005) English to Czech + ... SITE LOCALIZER Conditions not met | Jul 10, 2008 |
Hello. There are too prerequisites for this job: - native speaker of English - user of SDL Trados You meet neither of the conditions, so you're not allowed to quote on the job. See also http://www.proz.com/faq/jobs#submit_button Regards Marek The job is for Russian into English AND Russian into German. So the restriction has to be an error, but due to the latest filtering, no German speaker can even notify them. Zuviel des Guten, as they say | |

Hi all, I have notified the job poster, suggesting to re-post. On a general note, it's more efficient to contact a Jobs moderator in cases of erroneous job postings than to post in the forum. Thanks to Ralf and all the others. Ralf, I saw the reposting, but is was of no avail to me. Still they did not give any contact data. What is the reason of some outsources not showing their contact data? Regards Sybille | | | Ralf Lemster Germany Local time: 06:47 English to German + ... Contact details only visible to those eligible to quote | Jul 11, 2008 |
Hi again, What is the reason of some outsources not showing their contact data?
Outsourcers must provide full and consistent contact details, but they may choose to keep them visible to ProZ.com site staff and moderators. (This doesn't change the fact that service providers should require full disclosure before accepting an assignment.) Contact details are only shown to those fulfilling the requirements for quoting. But are seen only by those meeting the requirements. In this case one of mandatory requirements is "Native language- English" Uldis Sybille wrote: Ralf, I saw the reposting, but is was of no avail to me. Still they did not give any contact data.
