Hello all, I do not know whether you feel it is a good or a bad suggestion, but I felt that it makes things simpler,, since many outsourcers are asking for this information this season. This is just a suggestion. There may not be a SSN in a few countries. Best Brandis

Giving the SSN to one person is one thing. Making it official on a profile is another thing.

In countries like Austria, every step you take with the officials (health insurance, registration to offices like unemployement, tax, housing) maybe even your creditor's reference sind the SSN ist on the registration of the company can be reached through the SSN, If I remember well, even the bank once asked for it.

I would be the first not to make it official.

Most of the time identity thieves use your number and your good credit to apply for more credit in your name. Then, they use the credit cards and do not pay the bills. You do not find out that someone is using your number until you are turned down for credit, or you begin to get calls from unknown creditors demanding payment for items you never bought.

Someone illegally using your Social Security number and assuming your identity can cause a lot of problems."

Any more bright ideas?

In the United States of America, giving your SSN is almost equal to giving away your Bank Account number and its password. Unfortunately, they use your SSN for identification purposes on almost everything...
