I am very new to Proz - joined last week. I see that there is new a posting in my language pair. The poster asks us to send our resumes, rates etc. directly to him via email, but I see that 7 people have sent bids. Are we to submit a bid and contact the poster directly?

By the way, this is not for a specific job, the poster is looking for translators in general.

In general, follow the outsourcer's instructions Jan 13, 2003

Most outsourcers who want to be contacted directly opt not to allow quoting onsite. This outsourcer must have overlooked that.

In general, my advice is to apply in the way the outsourcer prefers.

thanks for the advice Jan 13, 2003

Thanks - wasn\'t sure what was the right thing to do since 7 others had submitted a bid.
