I have read several postings from members complaining about people who answer any question (irrespective of knowledge on the subjet) in order to get Kudoz points.

I find the \"asker\'s profile\" feature very useful.

I propose a similar gauge for the answerers. Just indicating how many points he/she has earned and how many PRO questions he/she has answered would give an immediate measurement of how serious the answerer is.

400 kudoz are an impressive achievement for someone who answered 200 questions but no so good for somebody who\'s answered 2000.

Comments?

Enrique

Hey, guys, sorry but I disagree :)) Feb 24, 2002

Why? Simply because all too often one question gets several correct answers.

Let\'s suppose that one question receives 5 answers. 3 answers are perfectly correct, only one is selected and gets KudoZ. But the other two that were also correct? Should those colleagues be *penalized*, so to speak?

Regards from Phoenix, Arizona.

I made essentially the same suggestion a couple of weeks ago. Feb 24, 2002

See under \"How about ranking by KudoZ grade average instead\". As of this reply, no one has commented.

In spite of a clever objection Feb 25, 2002

Bertha\'s suggestion is a clever one (how could it be otherwise?.

Yet from a statistical point of view you could count on two facts:

a) Only a fraction of questions will have several right answers

b) Even when your right answer is among other right answers, chances are that sometimes it would be chosen and sometimes it wouldn\'t

So in average this effect could end up being not very significative.

Of course this is nor an exact gauge, just a way to broadly recognize the members who tend to get it right say 40% of the time and those who do it 4% of the time.

KudoZ points are not so exact either. How many times a wrong answer is chosen among a couple of right ones?

Regards!
