Go to the forum topic started yesterday (March 14) by Paola Ludovici MacQuarrie (to be applauded):

I hope everybody then sees the need for a database where each us can make entries.

It would contain the following fields:

1. Source language (S)

2. Target language (T)

3. Ratio (R) i.e. S/T

4. Word volume for entered ratio (e.g. 32000)

6. Person entering the data (will appear automatically - you have to be logged in)

7. Input date



This database could, after sufficent number of entrie, be a much better negotiating basis between translator and his client than today guesswork.
