Do you think proz.com should have chatline so that the proz.com members can communicate with each other directly?

Hi,

We already have the forum section and the instant messaging feature, which is very useful.
I don't see which supplementary benefit a chatline would bring.

Regards,
Sylvain

There is the P instant messaging icon Feb 19, 2004

on the profile page (but you have to refresh continually to get the messages). Along with the option to use other instant messengers, it has been considered sufficient for working/networking. (KudoZ Net and Fusion deliver networking options).

However, a real-time chatroom will not be that easy to deliver, if you want it even halfway trouble-free.

Hi Rafalee,
Please check previous discussions on this:
http://www.proz.com/topic/6516 and http://www.proz.com/topic/16861 .
Seems that there is a general agreement that our fora and instant messaging do the job.

There are a lot of possibilities to chat elswhere.
I´m enjoying ProZ, because it sticks to the business we do. This is a professional site and should not become something else.

Yes Feb 20, 2004

it would bee good to have an opportunity to relax in a cofee break... that doesn't mean I would spend a lot of time there, though. But I often wish I could just look in a chat room and relax- exchange a few words on the wether with a collegue from the other end of the world
