One of the sites that I used to visit frequently is www.foreignword.com. They have a handy feature that allows you to search for terms in various on-line dictionaries. Lately however I have noticed that - at least in my language pairs - most of the links to the on-line dictionaries have become useless because dictionaries have either moved or disappeared and the link has not been changed in the Foreignword site. It seems that Foreignword is no longer supported as it should be. I was wondering if Proz could offer the same service. It is a quite handy feature at times - although most of the on-line dictionaries are just general, not specialised. I feel it would be a welcome addition to the site. I was wondering if any of you feel the same...

Dear Els,
have you seen the search feature available in the KudoZ menu, Internet Search?

http://www.proz.com/search/internet_search.php

It searches Eurodicautom and a number of Search engines

TOPIC STARTER
Thank you for pointing that out! May 21, 2004

Well, I guess Proz has even more to offer than I knew.
That's great!
It would be nice if more dictionaries could be added, though.
I also think it would be a great tool to attract businesses that are in need of translations - whereas it's really aimed at translators now. It would be a way to lead them to the Proz site and find all of us translators here!

where's the "Save settings" button? May 21, 2004

Seems a useful tool, but where is that button? I have Pt membership, but can't see it.

At the bottom, on the left May 21, 2004

I see

Restrict to languages
Save settings

Just under all the windows in which you put your languages and the resources you want to look at.

Els, have you ever tried Babylon (not brilliant but handy to have) and GuruNet?
babylon.com and gurunet.com

Thanks, but on my monitor the top margin of that box is just visible, but not the contents.
