In one of the translators' directory websites premium membership is offered for free to freelance translators from many underdeveloped, relatively poor countries.
And in fact there is not much demand for languages used in such countries. Could a similar practice be implemented at Proz.com as well?

Hello Ikrom May 2, 2005

First of all, welcome to Proz.com

Proz.com has two sorts of membership, Platinum and Free.
Platinum has different costs depending on what you want it for.
http://www.proz.com/plat/
The tab "Partial memberships" shows the details.

There have been requests for having different prices depending on the country where members live and also to have local representatives who could take in charge the payments in order to avoid banking fees.
I'll move your post to the Suggestions forum, because if it's not now, some day Staff might take it into account.

Claudia
