Hello everyone,

I have come across a problem of which I think the proz staff should be aware:

I was searching the directory today (for English - Romanian translators based in the UK, if that helps at all). I must say, I was mildly annoyed by the fact that the search results listed ALL English-Romanian translators irrespective of their country of residence.

Would it be possible to make the various filters work? Otherwise it is pointless having them on the search page. I am sure the system works the same in any other language combination.

I'd like to think what other people think, too.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend, everyone

Did you go to step 3 or stopped at step 2? Mar 11, 2006

Hi,
Are you sure that you are talking about the list which shows under Step 3: Results? At Step 2 you need to select specialisation field (and below that, indeed, there is a list of all translators in the given pair), after selecting specialisation you receive a list of those who meet all your criteria, including country of residence. E.g. there are 51 translators of English to Romanian, living in UK and doing Tech/Eng while in Romania there are 711 of them.

In short: you need to specify field of specialisation first.

HTH,
Magda
