Just a thought: I think it be nice to be able to show when we are on vacations.
It could have the same red color for Not Available or a slightly different color.
What would you think?

Have you found the option to leave a message? Jul 22, 2007

It's under "Settings -> email preferences", in the box "Note for those who want to contact me". (In my experience, though -- holidays, travelling or other circumstances -- not everyone reads the note. Maybe it should be highlighted?)

Prerequisite: Thieves do not visit ProZ.com Jul 22, 2007

With Google fast as lightning you might appear on Google on the day of your departure and the thief can see that your house/appartment might be empty and up for grabs.

Just a (not too paranoic) thought

Thank you for pointing this out. I have never used it nor knew the existence of such an option.
Have a great evening,
Dimitra

Not too paranoic, I must admit, but my thought did not come so far.
Have a great evening as well,
Dimitra

Thanks for pointing that out!

After what a business partner told me about thieves hanging out in Heathrow looking at the labels on luggage to be checked in, it's worth considering.

I use the option mainly because my building has a concièrge service that operates on holidays.

I don't see the difference between "unavailable" and "on holliday" Jul 23, 2007

You can be unavailable and unreachable (like for some interpreting assignment) or on holiday and just be going around and back at home every day.

Unavailable should mean "I can't respond/take any assignment" and for me either way you don't need to contact me for something on these days.
