Hello everyone,
We're not back to full speed yet, but the site is stable now.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
Best Regards,

I thought it was me... I couldn't get access for some days, or it was too slow.
Thank you Giovanni for this post!

Several times in the past few days, the speed of access has been so bad, I considered that ProZ was, in effect not available.
Especially from the point of view of the paying members, your job is not (only) to try; it is to succeed (in maintaining proper access). If this means installing more, or better, servers, do it!

The data we have at our disposal suggests that the problems that existed have been resolved. The average time for a page to be built on our servers is currently just over half of a second. This is the lowest it has been in at least four years.
Is there a particular area of the site in which you are experiencing delays? If so, we will evaluate it... | | | |

I don't specifically remember which areas. The areas I have visited recently have been Kudoz, Forums and Blueboard. I got the impression that the delays were not related to the area I was visiting but simply that the servers were under-specified or overloaded (the same thing, really). I don't think the problem was in my Internet connection, as I was able to see other non-Proz web sites at the usual speeds. It occurs to me now: could the delays be related to your location in USA and mine in GB? Can you collect statistics to relate response times to where the PCs are located?
Today the response times have been reasonably good, except for delays when I first tried to log in today (roughly midday GMT), which is what made me decide to make a posting to complain, and then I found this thread. If they are very long again in the near future, I'll post back here, with more information (if I remember, and I am ultimately able to log in and post something!).
Edit after writing the above: I now remember this: At least one of the "not available" occasions was when I tried to go to www.proz.com from an entirely different site (an htm file on my own PC): more than once, I waited about half a minute and nothing came from the server.
