Hi everyone

I don´t know whether it´s only me who´s experiencing this problem, but since yesterday I cannot use my availability calendar. My availability appears as a grey blinking dot and as soon as I click on it my browser shuts down. I tried it with various browsers and I haven´t changed any settings on my computer...
Is anyone having similar problems or can someone suggest a solution for this problem?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Manuela

Calendar changed Dec 1, 2008

Try accessing it from your profile, going to Edit. The editing function changed and now it is possible to select several days to assign the same availability. It is neat!

Hi Luisa

Thanks for your quick reply, but unfortunately the problem persist. Even when I try to set the calender through the edit function of my profile. As soon as I click on "set availability" the browser shuts down

Temporarily disabled new calendar for you, Manuela Dec 2, 2008

Hi Manuela,

I have temporarily disabled the new version of the availability calendar for you, Manuela. Does your browser still close when you view your availability calendar?

As Lucia said, it will also be very helpful to know what browser version and operating system you are using.

Thanks,

Jason

Dear Lucia, Dear Jason Dec 2, 2008

Thank you very much for your replies.

I´m working with Windows XP and usually work with Netscape (I know it´s outdated, but also tried it with IE and Google Chrome. And thanks Jason for disabling the new calendar functionality, but unfortunatley it´s still the same. As soon as I click on the icon (or want to update the calendar via my profile) the browser shuts down

Hi Manuela,

That is very strange! To be clear, are you saying that under Windows XP, all 3 of those browsers close whenever you visit http://www.proz.com/?sp=calendar ?

Do the following links close your browser as well?

http://www.proz.com/?sp=calendar&eid_s=41429 (that's my own calendar)
http://www.proz.com/?sp=calendar&visitor=1 (that's your calendar as others see it)

Do you have this problem when visiting any other page?

Thanks for helping track down this problem.

Best regards,

Jason

Hi Jason Dec 3, 2008

Clicking on the links (both for your calendar and mine) works fine (browser doesn´t close). However, as soon as I click on the availability icon the Netscape browser shuts down. Strangely enough I now managed to access and set my availability with Google Chrome. As for shutting down any other websites... no, I haven´t experienced any problems of that kind anywhere else so far?
Thanks a lot for your continued efforts. Would be great if we´d manage to make it work again normally.. even with outdated Netscape

Manuela

Made another change: does it work with Netscape now? Dec 3, 2008

Hi Manuela,

I made another change that may help fix this problem. Can you try again and tell me if the calendar page still crashes your version of Netscape?

Thanks,

Jason

Disabled javascript calendar by default for all Netscape browsers Dec 3, 2008

I have modified the calendar so that the new javascript features are disabled by default when viewed with a Netscape browser. It is possible to re-enable the javascript features by clicking "Switch to javascript enabled version".

Thanks for helping troubleshoot this problem, Manuela.

Best regards,

Jason
