I -accidentally- made my answer invisible to others and apparently there's no undo option (for fools like me)

Hi Alejandra,
No panic - just contact one of the moderators, and they will be able to restore your answer.

Best regards, Ralf

Copy the text and paste it in a new answer Sep 6, 2004

You can select the text of the old (now grey) answer with your mouse and select it by clicking Ctrl + C on your keyboard or select Copy from the context menu (right mouse button (there seem to be wrong mouse buttons as well)), make a new answer and paste the text there: Ctrl + V or select Paste from the context menu.
I use this method sometimes when my answer has become a zoo and it is still not peer-graded.

In memoriam
Hide button is too near the one used for recording your responses to peer grading Sep 7, 2004

And once I inadvertently pressed the hide button. I had to run to a moderator to restore the answer.
My suggestions:

Locate the hide button elsewhere with eye catching color.

Should an answerer press it, give a prompt for confirmation before giving effect to the click. Otherwise one cannot avoid the cold feeling on seeing one's answer hidden without one wanting it.

Regards,
N.Raghavan

option of restoring answers? Sep 7, 2004

Would it not be possible for members to have the option of restoring their hidden answers? This would save on moderator time and make us happy.

Proz.com Suggestions Sep 7, 2004

Yesterday I was thinking of how *distracted* I was, deleting my own asnwwers. But now I see I'm not the only one who's been in the same situation. Then maybe one of our nice moderators could move this thread to the Proz.com suggestion forum.
