Hello,
Does anybody know if it is possible (and how) to translate a document in acrobat reader without having acrobat writer.
Thanks | | | Rita Damo United Kingdom English to Spanish + ... Extracting text from PDF | May 22, 2002 |
You can\'t process a PDF file unless you have Adobe Acrobat full version.
Try the following:
1. Get a free copy or Wordfast at www.champollion.net 2. Follow the instructions for installing the macro 3. Open the intended PDF file using Acrobat Reader 4. Open a blank document in Word 5. Select Wordfast at the Task Bar in Word 6. Press Start Translation/Next Segment button 7. Then, you will obtain the text (a Word file) extracted from the PDF file 8. Invest some time in editing the final text
Drop me a line if you have any other questions.

Acrobat reader is to read, and, incase you can change anything, it will be so slowly that you will be wasting precious time. You need Acrobat or Acrobat writer. Sorry.

Bonjour !
Groetjes, Nicolette ▲ Collapse | |

also work without using Wordfast.
1) Open a new (blank) doc in Word. 2) In the pdf-file, \"select all,\" copy, and paste into the blank Word-file.
This works most of the time, but you may need to have to rearrange the text. And, of course, the client will then have to convert the Word-file back into a .pdf-file | | | John Kinory (X) Local time: 05:24 English to Hebrew + ... Trudy's instructions | May 22, 2002 |

Please note:
(a) This does not always work. It depends on how the text is embedded in the pdf file; (b) you may have to select each page separately. Certainly in some (all?) versions of Acrobat Reader, \'Select all\' only works one page at a time. [addsig] ▲ Collapse | | | BelkisDV United States Local time: 00:24 Spanish to English + ... Yo lo hago así.... | May 23, 2002 |
Abro el documento PDF con Adobe Acrobat y reduzco el tamaño de la pantalla, a la vez abro un documento en blanco en Word y también reduzco la pantalla, colocándola al lado de la de Adobe.
Así puedo navegar en Adobe e ir traduciendo en Word. Por supuesto que el archivo final es en Word.
