Can I link to my profile from my own website? Can I use the ProZ.com logo?

I was wondering if I could use the Proz logo in my website, so that I could link it to my Proz profile...

Is there any prohibition against that? Does anyone have the logo at their website? If so, where could I find a square-shaped logo?

Thanks!

You are welcome to link to your profile from your own site. You may also use the ProZ.com logo. This code should work:

<div align="center"><a href="http://www.proz.com/translator/{your ID}" title="My ProZ.com translator profile"><img src="http://www.proz.com/images/prozlogo.gif" height="30" border="0" alt="ProZ.com - The Translation Workplace"><br>My ProZ.com profile</a></div>

You need to put your ID in where it says {your ID} (take out the brackets). You can make the logo larger or smaller by changing the value of the height attribute (from 30). You can also put whatever you like where it says "My ProZ.com profile".

This will look like this:

ProZ.com - The Translation Workplace
My ProZ.com profile

If you do not know your ProZ.com ID, you can get it by going to your profile and looking at the number in the URL shown at the top.

Well, it's no Proz, but I'm really happy with the final result and with the fact that it's just so easy to update. Maybe my next HowTo will be about building and updating a professional website.

Thanks again!

Rather have Proz' graphic designers resize it, I think Jun 2, 2005

Resizing by changing the attribtues is risky. Different systems and different browsers use different methods to resize an image, and while the image might look nice on one screen, it might look terribly amateurish on another.

The best thing would be for the Proz graphic designers to take that logo and create a few buttons of the "standard" sizes such as 88x31 or 468x60 (although "non-standard" sizes can help, too).

Also, be sure to mention both height en width in your HTML code, for the benefit of those of us who surf with images disabled, please
