In both IE and Firefox I'm seeing all accented characters and special characters scrambled to something else: In Firefox I'm seeing white question marks on a blach diamond instead of any special characters; in IE the special characters seem to be replaced by a variety of wrong characters.
In both cases the site looks really messy at this moment.

Unicode Oct 4, 2005

That is because you view the site in Unicode. Try changing the encoding from your browser's menu.
View - Encoding - Western - Windows-1252 (or another encoding, depending on the language you use).
The same for all browsers.

Proz is now unreadable except in English Oct 4, 2005

The page switches to Unicode at every refresh. But non-English entries in the Fora and in Kudoz are not coded in Unicode, so everything gets scrambled.
I'm all for Unicode, but it should be used properly. Now the entries are encoded the old way, but the page switches to Unicode.
Hope this get fixed as soon as possible.

Problem still there on Home page and other pages Oct 4, 2005

Hi Henry:

Unfortunately, I still see the scrambled characters on several pages: right now on the home page of the site and on several other pages I still see the scrambled characters instead of the accented or other special characters.
I'm seeing the characters correctly in this page.
The strange thing, is that, for example, parts of the page that are the same in the Home page and in the Fora, actually are being displayed differently right now.
For instance, in Italian the "Availability" button under Member information contains an accented character (disponibilità, which ends with an "a grave").
As I'm writing this post, I'm seeing it displayed correctly to the left, but if I switch back to the home page, it is wrong again.

Riccardo

Home page fixed (I think), problem still present in Community page Oct 4, 2005

I now see the Home page correctly, but the Community main page is still scrambled

I mean... the Forums main page.
