Problems with Trados after I cleaned up the file-please help

I cleaned up a file and when I tried to open it, I got this message:



\"WINWORD.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to start the program. An error log is being created.\"



I am able to open the file, but it gets closed after a few seconds. I do not know what to do in order to open the file and send it to my client. It is due today and I still need to review it one more time before I send it (luckily is not that long).



I was able to open the Back up file just fine and I did not get the above message. So I tried to clean up the Back up file and saved it under a different name, but this time I got the very same message...



Any ideas of what to do? Please help me as I am really desperated. It is 2:15 am here where I am now and I gave up for now. I restarted the computer, but to no avail. I also ran a Norton virus check and it said that I did not have any viruses. So, what is it? I hope to get some help/ideas from you.

Open the file with Word Pad (in the accessories).

Then you can send it to your client the way it is, or save it under a different name and open it one more time in Word, to make sure it is OK...

That won't solve the problem.... Aug 26, 2002

It happens to me too.

You just need to select all text and choose English in the Language option of word.

It won\'t happen anymore (with that file).

Why do I say it won\'t solve the problem? because it is a problem/bug that Trados needs to solve!

Agreed - but what you should do in order to get it solved is to post a description of the problem on their website, or to contact Trados support (provided you have a support agreement).
