Uploaded photo does not show- anyone else got this problem? Thread poster: Stephanie Wloch

Today at 16 pm (Proz-time) I tried to upload a new photo. I know that it takes some time before it shows up.
Half an hour is mentioned as maximum in the FAQ. But it is much more now.
Anyone else got this problem?
Maybe a very busy time for the servers who have to store it?
Extremely depressing being faceless.:-(

I myself last month had the same problem, until I reduced the file size (it's the one you see now) from same 370 or little more Kb to 324 Kb now. Seems to me the limit is 350 (though instructions mention only size in pixels and I don't know how they can be converted into Kb (or even if it is related- e.g., I can make a very small (visual) size picture weighting 12 Mb...)

I feel a bit less depressed now.:-)
me the limit is 350 (though instructions mention only size in pixels
First I uploaded a picture which was to big and you see a notice in red letters that it has to be 200x300 Pixels widexhigh
I resized my picture and got the notice: Your image is stored.
So that should not be the problem.

I updated my cv last week, posted the new one and it seemed it had been uploaded. When I tried to control, I was redirected to another page, and there was no news of my cv... old or new!
I believe we should ask the staff... shouldn't we?

I have uploaded a resume more than 2 hours ago and it still does not appear.
there was no news of my cv... old or new!
That's a good point. I would like to know if it would be possible to show the old photos and resumes until the new ones show up.
I hope this problem will be solved.

Because mine (being animated one) did comply to hight and width to begin with, but seems was too large in size. As I mentioned, it is fully possible to make a picture complying with hight and with, but having the size it had when it was taken (say, on my 6 mega-pixel camera I use now, the default size of a single picture is 3,5 Mb). To reduce the size of the picture takes special graphic programs (I have some), if you'd email me your picture to "uldisattulkodotlv", I'd return it to you in reduce... Only RGB will do. When I uploaded mine, it didn't work at first, either. I then changed the format from .eps to .gif, or vice versa, I can't remember which, and everything worked fine.
Your picture is already stored, hence the box with the little red cross. It simply doesn't display properly, most likely because it is the wrong format.

But my picture has just .jpg 8 KB, 190x267 Pixel.
My previous one got 182 x 288 Pixel - 13,4 KB

... I tried replacing my pic on Friday and it's still not showing. At first I thought it was because they were busy with the visitor counter but I see that's already done.
My new pic's 195X214 and 35kb only, so I don't think that's the problem.

I am sure staff is already aware of this... But I needed my patience these past days for navigating the ProZ site. For some reason, everything loads slowly. I know it's not my hardware that bugs because other sites still load as usual, while ProZ is a good 2X slower than usual.
I guess this has caused your photo to be stuck on standby for such a long time.
Hopefully, this will only get better!

But not for me. I tried to upload a new image almost 4 hours ago, deleted the previous one, the size was accepted, but nothing happened yet. I don't like my profile as it is now, hope "they" fix it soon.
