Without trying to make any change in my password. I have received the following email from Proz:

Hi All,

Without trying to make any change in my password. I have received the following email from Proz:

And listed an IP of the person who tried to change teh password, my username, my email address and a link to click on it in order to confirm the change.
Of course I did not click on the link, because I have not asked for any change.
How can this happen? How can you explain this?
I checked the IP and found that it belongs to Canada.

Thanks for your help on this!

Waleed

Hi Waleed,
Of course I did not click on the link, because I have not asked for any change.

Right.

How can this happen? How can you explain this?

This is a safety feature - someone tried to access your profile using your user name, but obviously not knowing your password. Now this could have been yourself - after all, you might have forgotten your password. Any attempt to change the password needs to be confirmed - this confirmation is sent to your e-mail account, to ensure only you can really change it.

I checked the IP and found that it belongs to Canada.

No further action required, really - but if you want site staff to research this, I suggest you submit a Support Request.

Best regards,
Ralf
