I just tried to make use of the early-bird offer and pay for the conference, given that the deadline for the early-bird offer is today, but much to my surprise the option is already disabled.

Surely if it says the deadline is 12th that means I need to pay on 12th at the latest and it should not already be disabled on 12th? Is this a glitch in the system, or was the deadline in fact 11th?

(Michael, I've just dropped you an email as well. Thanks for letting me know one way or the other.)

Regards,

Nicole

On the body of the screen, not the banner on the left Oct 12, 2008

Hi Nicole,

It is likely that you are trying to sign on for the conference from a banner on the left of the screen (a button that says "Buy now" and is already greyed out). It has been like that for a few days, at least since I joined, and that was about 4 days ago.

However, if you go to the body of the page, where the details for early bird and later subscription are described, you may see that you can press the link to pay the lower price -available until today-. ... See more

If Michael has not answered you yet -which I doubt-, I hope this helps and that you can sign in

Best,

ProZ are aware of the problem. Oct 13, 2008

Hi Nicole,

I'm sorry about this. ProZ are aware of he problem, but a change of staff meant it was never rectified.

Anyone who paid within the period will receive the full 6-month's early-bird membership.

I have also explained this in a reply to your e-mail.

If you find you have not had the 6 months added to your profile in the next week or so, please post a support ticket using the Support link at the bottom of the ProZ site pages.

I anyone did not pay yesterday, like Nicole, please pay today either direct through me or on the ProZ, letting me know, so that I can contact the appropriate ProZ staff to ensure you receive the full early-bird bonus package.

Best regards

Early bird Oct 14, 2008

I just found out about this conference over the weekend when I was at the CLS Financial Translators Conference in Madrid. As I just got back late yesterday I did not have a chance to take advantage of the Early Bird special. I don't suppose I can still take advantage of it if I sign up today, can I?

The usual line about drawing a line... Oct 15, 2008

Dear Edward,

I'm terribly sorry to have to come out with this cliché, but the early-bird deadline had to happen some time. Dear Edward,

I'm terribly sorry to have to come out with this cliché, but the early-bird deadline had to happen some time. I appreciate this is difficult for you since you only heard of the conference over the weekend and the deadline has already been extended once, but the system has now switched to the more limited offer of 3 month's free membership to conference delegates. In addition several people have registered for the conference in the interim and of course only received the 3-month package (which is nevertheless a great offer). To be fair, we'd have to change it for everyone, and then there would undoubtedly be someone else quite understandably making a similar request the day afterwards. So, we can't do it, I'm afraid.

The only consolation I can offer is that all delegates will now also be receiving free copies of AnyCount in their delegate packs, and there will be other specials to follow, including some great prize draw prizes to be finalised soon.

I am sorry that it isn't possible to be more flexible at the this late date.

On the plus side there are still places remaining - including for the dinners now that I've managed to get bigger/additional private rooms.

And as a personal apology from me that I can't do any more regarding your early bird request, I'll offer you a drink of your choice at the Friday evening pre-registration meet-up at the Camden Centre...

Best regards

Michael

Deal Oct 17, 2008

A very nice solution you have offered, Michael. I have now officially signed up and paid for the conference with my 3 month membership. I will also be happy to receive a complementary copy of AnyCount which I am sure will come in handy.

How do I sign up for the extra-curricular functions? This is only my second time to England. I was really impressed by my first visit (my purpose last time also being a Proz conference). I think those big pump things when they pour ale are neat. I'l

Big pump thing booked! Oct 17, 2008

Thanks Edward. You'll be pleased to hear that the Friday evening networking event has several real ales on hand pumps (we really have tried to think of everything -:) ).

The menus for both evenings are here http://www.proz.com/forum/uk_conference/117317-evening_networking_and_social_dinners.html and further information on the venues an

The menus for both evenings are here http://www.proz.com/forum/uk_conference/117317-evening_networking_and_social_dinners.html and further information on the venues and costs is here: http://www.proz.com/conference/55?page=accommodation

The prices shown include VAT and have to be paid upon booking, unfortunately, but the good news is that there are still places left, mainly because I have managed to get larger rooms (private rooms so we can all network freely at our ease).

There will also be early registration at the Camden Centre on Friday night for those who want to relax during the Saturday morning registration rush, and the Camden Centre bar will be open for some pre-dinner networking and socialising as well.

I look forward to meeting you there.

Michael

count me in Oct 22, 2008

can I still register for the Saturday networking dinner? I will probably be too late for the Friday one, as my train only arrives after 8pm. Looking at the prices I am getting a reality check - a dinner up my end of the woods would cost half that if not qarter! Big city is a big city...and as long as the company is good we'll manage somehow.
Thanks for organising such a big event, you are doing a great job.

Lucie
